Where do the videos come from?
EPL has used local professionals and parents to preview many nationally
distributed videos and recommend the best. The videos are brief (less than 30
minutes long), informative, and high quality. Top
In what format are the videos?
Most videos are available in both VHS videocassette and DVD format. Some videos
are available for on-demand video streaming (requires a high-speed Internet
connection). Top
What if I don't have a VCR or DVD player?
Perhaps you could take the videos to a friend's house and watch it together. You
might also consider a social service agency or church. Many public libraries
have equipment and high-speed Internet service. Top
What if we have special needs?
We provide mainstream parenting information. If you or your child has unique
medical or other needs, we may be able to suggest other resources. Top
What if I move?
We are happy to provide your service anywhere in the USA. Please let us know
ahead of time of any address, phone, or email changes. Top
Does the age of my baby matter?
Our service is offered to parents who are expecting or whose first child is
under one year of age. (We have excellent prenatal videos, and would like to
start as soon as you know you are expecting.)
Top
How long can I keep a video?
You should send VHS and DVDs back within about a week. Educational videos are
quite expensive, and must be received in ten days. If you fail to return a
video, you must pay a $25 fee to continue service. You can only do this one
time. Top
Does this replace parenting classes?
Our service adds to the information from other agencies. We encourage you to
take advantage of a variety of parenting resources.
Top
What if I can't afford the $20 registration fee?
A one-time fee of only $20 for access to a multiyear supply of the very best
parenting videos mailed to your home is a tremendous value. Nevertheless, if you
are below 150% of the Federal Poverty Level, and you live in the Greater
Cincinnati area, we can refer you to a church or social service organization
that can assist you with alternatives. Top
Can I help?
Certainly! Your offers for volunteer service and donations for operating funds
are always welcome. In addition other expecting or new parents would appreciate
your telling them about this service.

What about my privacy?
We respect your right to privacy. Information such as your phone number, address, and family status will only be available
to EPL staff and the volunteer(s) working with you. We will not share individual personal information with others
unless the law requires us, or you give consent. To the extent that member data is disclosed in our reports, it will be
in an anonymous, general or summary format.

Does my opinion matter? We value and
appreciate your reactions to our videos. We want to know if the video was
effective in answering your questions and meeting your needs. Your answers will
enable us to tune the program for you and make things better for the people that
follow you.
Top
How can I provide opinions? You
can go to an on-line survey site to give us your comments. While there you can
select the next video, get links to helpful sites, and download a free summary
of the key points of the video you just watched. If you prefer a live
interaction we will call you on the phone to handle these same functions.
