Privacy Policy of Every Parent's Library
We respect each person’s right to privacy and place a high priority on protecting the information that is given to us. These are our practices:
Information We Collect: In order for us to provide the best possible service, we need to collect some personal information. This includes:

How We Use This Information: Access is limited to EPL staff and volunteers who have signed a statement of confidentiality. The information is used to better meet the member’s needs, to measure the progress of the EPL program, and to identify new services and opportunities. Personal information will not be sold or shared with other organizations.

Members:
We use member’s information to help us provide the best service. We will not share individual personal information with others unless the law requires us, or if a member gives us their consent. To the extent that member information is disclosed in our reports, it will be in an anonymous, general, or summary format. (An example is the number of families served from a specific county).EPL may also use individual member comments or quotes in reports and promotional materials. All comments and quotes will be used anonymously, unless EPL receives permission in writing beforehand
A member may request to see the information that we maintain on them at any time. It is a member’s right to review this information and they may request changes in data that they provided to us (e.g., a change in address or a correction in spelling of their name). Members may not change information collected from other sources (e.g., a date that a particular video was mailed). The member also has the right to have their personal data removed from the system upon request.

Volunteers:
Information is used to match the volunteer with the best possible volunteer opportunity. Personal information is not disclosed to or shared with other organizations or with program participants.

Donors:
Names of contributors and categories of giving may be acknowledged or disclosed in our annual reports or other publications, unless the donor requests that their name be withheld.

Non-Disclosure of Member Information: A member may choose to not share certain information with us by not replying to some profile questions. This will not exclude prospective or ongoing members from receiving service, however, it may affect our ability to match their needs with our resources.
Non-Disclosure of Volunteer Information: Volunteer candidates who choose to not answer vital questions may be denied the opportunity to work in a direct service capacity.
Policy Changes: From time to time, Every Parent’s Library may revise this policy.

Whenever specifics in this document are changed, they will be communicated to the EPL staff and volunteers.

A policy statement for public dissemination appears at the end of this document. From time to time, Every Parent’s Library may revise that public policy statement. Members, staff, and volunteers will be notified in writing of any such change.
Implementation: The Executive Director is responsible for insuring the organization complies with this policy.
Training: Each staff member and volunteer will receive training on the importance of information privacy. In addition, each individual needing access to sensitive information must sign our “Confidentiality Policy and Statement” before being granted access to that information.
Summary
We respect your right to privacy. Information such as your phone number, address, and family status will only be available to EPL staff and the volunteer(s) working with you. We will not share individual personal information with others unless the law requires us, or you give consent. To the extent that member data is disclosed in our reports, it will be in an anonymous, general, or summary format. You may opt to not disclose some information and may review your information at any time. Details of this policy are available from your enrollment host, our website, or our office.
